Original title: Folk med ångest
police investigationmysterious disappearance
Running time: 30 minutes
Language: Swedish
Two local policemen, father Jim and son Jack, are in the middle of family crisis when crime happens just before their eyes - a robber walks into a small bank office and demands cash. Not only he leaves empty-handed, but also police is chasing him straight away. The robber ends up in an open house, where potential buyers are in the middle of inspecting a flat that is for sale. With gun in hand he stops them from leaving, but with police on his back he has only one option - take civilians as hostages. Jack, who is in charge, calls for backup, but soon after they receive message from hostages - they demand pizza. Despite Jack’s protests Jim takes the food upstairs and now all they have to do is wait for arrival of SWAT team from Stockholm. Few hours later, when the flat is finally stormed by the SWAT they find eight hostages, but there is no sign of the bank robber. Jim begins to suspect that robber is hiding among hostages, but as long as he has no evidence the case will not be solved.
Swedish miniseries centered around investigation of father-son team of policemen, who are trying to figure out how bank robber managed to just disappear from the flat. It is mixture of police story, a bit of comedy and a multi-layer story - all of it makes it unusual, but at the same time it is easy to get attached. With short, 30-minutes-long episodes it feels like a very short and simple story, but Anxious People actually have the elements of typical Scandinavian crime movies.
