Exam 2009 British mystery film review
Eight candidates are running for a single position in a global corporation. Locked in a small room almost bare of any furniture, they are given instructions for their exam - during the exam, they are only bound by the company rules, they cannot communicate with the instructor or the armed guard by the door, and they cannot leave the room. If they break the rules, they will be disqualified from the exam and their application for the position. Each of the candidates is given a piece of paper with their number on it, if they destroy or damage their sheet of paper, they also will be disqualified. The exam itself is simple - answer the one question. But that is where the instructions end, and the candidates are baffled what that one question is. Once they are left in the room with just the guard, they start to looking for the answer to the question they still don’t understand.
Interesting idea for a movie, based on previously used formula of a group of people locked in a confined space and trying to figure out the logic of the environment they find themselves in (like Cube, Saw or Unknown just to name a few). The plot is original, the science fiction element of global epidemic some intriguing background to the whole story, the interaction between the characters is quite interesting as well. Overall, not a groundbreaking production, but interesting and original enough to keep you guessing until the end.
