Four 2011 British mystery film review
Husband, convinced that his wife is cheating on him, hires a private detective to help him solve the problem. Although "solve" is not exactly the right word, he hires the detective to kidnap the lover of his wife. Now that the deed is done, the husband comes down to an abandoned factory building, where the man is being kept. The detective has some good news for him - not only he caught the man the wife was having an affair with, but also he brought to this secluded place the wife herself. While the husband is still not sure how to deal with his wife’s lover, her presence adds a new dimension to it. And he is not happy by this change of plan, but the detectives tries to convince him that this is the best way to deal with the problem. While the loves is tied to a chair with a bag over his head, the husband tries to come up with a plan what to do to him, while the young man is trying to convince them that they got the wrong man and surely he was mistaken for his brother.
British independent movie that in a way was interesting idea, with just four actors and a single location and an atmosphere that sometimes tries to imitate films like Unknown or Reservoir Dogs, the plot (if it can be called that) is very uneven. Of course, with limited budget, the creators had to rely on the quality of the script, but the script, despite few nice twists, is mildly interesting or involving. Nevertheless it is an above average thriller with elements of mystery.
