JFK 1991 American mystery movie review
On November 22, 1963, president John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Lee Harvey Oswald is pointed out as the killer, but while being in the police custody, he is shot dead by a nightclub owner, Jack Ruby. The Louisiana district attorney, Jim Garrison, wants to have a closer look at the evidence in the case. His investigation into links between the assassination and New Orleans prominent figures is quickly shut down as grasping at straws. Three years later, when the official Warren Commission Report is published, Garrison finds inaccuracies in the evidence presented and is determined to re-open the case within his authority.
Masterpiece made by Oliver Stone, which expresses what many Americans felt for a long time - that the whole investigation after the JFK assassination was nothing but a hoax. A good deal of evidence was misrepresented, others ignored, some even invented just to fit the official version (like the magic bullet). Of course, Stone makes his interpretation of the facts and events, which might be skewed by his personal feelings, but since the US government keeps the evidence locked, it’s the only version of what happened that doesn’t offend the intelligence of the viewers. A must be seen!
