Like Minds 2006 Australian mystery classic movie review
Sally Rowe, a forensic psychologist, is asked by the police to evaluate a brilliant student from boarding school, Alex Forbes, who is suspected of killing his schoolmate Nigel Colbie. When she meets the teenager for the first time, he seems arrogant and unstable, but once he starts to tell his story from the moment the new boy arrived at school, the image begins to change. Nigel Colbie had a brilliant mind, but soon shown a dark side of his personality. As Alex puts it, Nigel "had this morbid fascination with all things dead", he kept animals preserved in jars and dissected them. Spooked by the new roommate, Alex complaints to his father, the headmaster of the school, about the situation and Nigel is moved elsewhere. As the story unfolds, Sally digs up new elements of the puzzle of what exactly happened.
A psychological thriller set in a British boarding school, where the newly arrived student changes the life of the son of the headmaster. Very gloomy thriller that explores the dark corners of the human mind. Done with a lot of skill, it is a very interesting movie, although often overlooked.
