9/11 attacks

Who were the pilots?

One of the conspiracy theories started the argument if we are really sure who were the pilots that crashed the planes during 9/11 attacks. Officially they were Al-Qaida fanatics that were trained in United States, but to be exact it was the basic flight training on a single-engined plane and it is virtually impossible after such training to master the steering of commercial Boeing. So either the pilots were more skilled than we know or they had outside help.

 - Who were the pilots?

Facts that are supporting the theory:

  • the instructors that taught the hijackers told the media that they lacked talent,
  • it takes a lot of time and skill to master flying huge multi-engine airplane,
  • it takes a lot of skill for novice to hit the towers with such precision as on 9/11,
  • it takes a lot of skill for novice to fly huge plane on a very low altitude, like in Pentagon attack,
  • as the drones have already proved it is possible to steer plane from long distance, so the hijackers might not had to fly the planes themselves in the final parts of the flight.

Facts that oppose the theory:

  • it is possible that the hijackers were good enough pilots to crash into the towers themselves with a bit of luck, although three lucky pilots in same day seems rather unlikely,
  • hijackers might have trained on large planes and we just don’t know about it, but if so why would they bother to take up the basic training if they had the chance to train on a larger plane (also joining basic training in USA was dragging attention to them).
