The illustrations
The illustrations in manuscript often cover most of the pages or are arranged around the text. Their style and technique suggest that they were made in the Europe, but their content are usually quite mysterious - the vary from obviously herbal and botanical motives to astronomical or maybe even philosophical.
Since almost all of the pages contain some sort of illustration it shed little light on what could be in the text - in style and the whole outlook the manuscript seems to use format similar to European herbals of the time. Also basing on the illustrations it is believed that the whole manuscript is divided into 6 sections:
- Herbal
- Astronomical
- Biological
- Cosmological
- Cosmological
- Recipes
