Presidio Heights attack

On 11 October 1969, a cab driver Paul Stine was killed by a passenger on Cherry Street in San Francisco. The passenger shot Stine once in the head with a 9mm gun, took Stine’s wallet and car keys, and tore away a section of Stine’s bloodstained shirt tail. This passenger was observed by three teenagers across the street, who called the police while the crime was in progress.

Despite police quickly moved in they were unable to catch the killer on the spot since wrong description was given through radio.
