Journalist Ulrik Torp, son of a former justice minister, is assigned a new job - his magazine sends him to cover the Danish parliament in the midst of preparations for upcoming elections. Eleven days before the elections leader of Centre Party and almost certain candidate to be the next Prime Minister, is injured in a car accident. He and his wife end up in a hospital and, while details of their health are not made public, the party calls urgent meeting of the top officials with just one agenda - finding new leader. Erik Dreyer and Lone Kjeldsen, two very different candidates has emerged and the internal struggle for power begins. But Ulrik Torp and independent journalist Henrik Moll, start to dig deeper in the story. Why the information about health of the party leader are so scarce?
Political thriller, which was dubbed "a Danish JFK", although this comparison is hard to justify. King’s Game is rather cameral story presented through a completely different scope than Oliver Stone’s epic masterpiece. There is interesting atmosphere in King’s Game, there are interesting characters, but overall it is not unforgettable story that will make you think about the reality of the world around you.
