Henryk Kowalski works as a taxi driver in the coastal city in Poland. One night, after a row with his girlfriend, he leaves for a night shift, but his partner does not show up with the car in the usual place. Henryk is worried, but suspects there was some problem with the car, so he goes home. In the morning, the police find the taxi in a remote place and Henryk’s partner inside, shot in the back. It wasn’t the first time a taxi driver was killed in that manner in this area, so the police are put under pressure to finally solve the case. They start to investigate all the leads, among them Henryk’s alibi, or rather the lack of it. Henryk, on the other hand, fearing the police investigators already set their minds on trapping him, tries to find the killer on his own. He does what he can to find out where his partner went for his final ride.
This is an old-fashioned crime-mystery movie set in a Polish coastal city, where taxi drivers are killed after the ride to a secluded house. The plot of this film is hardly a masterpiece, but compared to other Polish movies from the same era, it had a decent atmosphere and the mystery behind the murder intriguing enough to watch it in full.
