Death of Isidor Fink

Suicide theory

Since the entry into the apartment was impossible, or rather almost impossible, the police was obviously suspecting suicide.

Facts that are supporting the theory:

  • all the doors and windows were closed from the inside there was no way (almost no way) for anyone to enter and leave the apartment,
  • there are no signs of forced entrance,
  • there were no signs of struggle,
  • only fingerprints of Isidor Fink were found on the crime scene.

Facts that oppose the theory:

  • the wounds would suggest murder rather than suicide (it is unlikely that he would shoot himself in the chest if he would plan to kill himself),
  • no weapon was found,
  • there are no obvious reasons for Fink to commit suicide (at least that we know about),
  • if he would plan to commit suicide it is unlikely that the last thing he would do is deliver laundry until 10 PM,
  • neighbours heard screams coming from the apartment.

 theory

Do you have what it takes to solve a case like this?

Death of Isidor Fink comments

Have you guys considered that the killer might be one of the Mr Fink’s neighbours. Here’s the reason of my conjecture: I looked at Wikipedia, stating that the neighbours called the police as soon as they heard the scream, hence it is almost impossible for the killer to escape. However, the killer( pretending that he is a neighbour of Fink) might have just slipped past by calling the police.

Gun silencers don't actually silence guns except on tv. They do change the sound and make it hard to pinpoint where it's coming from. You can see videos of what gun silencers sound like on YouTube. So that's probably not the explanation for why a gun wasn't heard.
