A prostitute

Isdal Woman was traveling from hotel to hotel, was seen meeting men, those meetings (at least one of them in her hotel room) did not seemed like they were meetings of friends - all of that created another theory, that she was a prostitute. Hotel staff described her as good looking, rather tall, she had resources to travel and no clear destination. All of it seems to be quite solid.

Facts that are supporting the theory:

she had resources to travel freely for months,
she had box of matches with ad of German lingerie or sex shop,
she was changing her appearance, perhaps to fit the needs of her clients,
she was seen talking to men in hotels, those meetings did not looked like personal matters,
she was often changing hotels without any particular reason,
she was changing rooms after checking-in, perhaps to put police off her trail,
her suspicious death could be effect of misunderstanding with client,
there are gaps in her travels, during which she could have been staying with her clients,
no one came forward to identify her, because only people in Norway that met her could not be interested in revealing they were meeting a prostitute,

Facts that oppose the theory:

she used fake identities and passports, which would be a bizarre and excessive security measure for prostitute,
she was changing rooms after checking-in, which drew attention of hotel staff and would be excessive security measure,
she did not have any items (apart from perhaps wigs) that would suggest she was a prostitute,
her meetings with men were seen by hotel staff (especially the one that took place in her room), which means she wasn’t trying to hide it, which is unlikely for prostitute who was so paranoid that she kept changing her identity,
she did not have a lot of money with her,
with fjords available nearby it would be unlikely that someone, who killed prostitute would leave her body on hiking trail with her personal belongings placed around the body,

Even though on first glance the prostitute theory might seem solid, there is absolutely nothing that could link Isdal Woman to the oldest profession, especially the way her body was found.
