Hinterkaifeck was a small secluded farmstead situated between the Bavarian towns of Ingolstadt and Schrobenhausen, in 1922 when mysterious murders took place, it was inhabited by Gruber family:
Andreas Gruber (63)
Cäzilia Gruber (72) - his wife
Viktoria Gabriel (35) - their widowed daughter
Cäzilia Gabriel (7) - daughter of Viktoria
Josef Gabriel (2) - son of Viktoria
Maria Baumgartner - the new maid.
The youngest child, 2-year-old Josef, was rumoured to be the son of Viktoria and her father Andreas, who had an incestuous relationship.
Previous maid have left the farm few months before the murders stating that the house was haunted and she can’t stay there longer. The new maid have arrived just few hours before the killings.
