Disappearance of Flight MH 370

Accident theory

Another theory is that the reason behind the strange route and lack of contact is in fact, some sort of accident that took place over the Gulf of Thailand. This involves power failure or the hypoxia (deprivation of adequate oxygen supply) due to cabin failure.

Facts that are supporting the theory:

  • hypoxia would explain the course of flight - crew might have activated the autopilot, since that point plane was travelling without human involvement,
  • power failure would explain the lack of contact,
  • transponder might have been non-active after the power failure, and not deliberately switched off by the crew.

Facts that oppose the theory:

  • The point in which the plane changed course is rather impossible to be completely random (in the spot where no one is actually watching it in air traffic control),
  • The engines were running fine for several hours according to satellite data,
  • The route along the flight corridor and change of the altitude does not seem like autopilot activity, unless this particular flight path was previously programmed).
