Disappearance of Flight MH 370

Disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370) was an international passenger flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Beijing, China. On 8 March 2014 Boeing 777-200ER took off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 00:41 local time and was scheduled to reach Beijing Capital International Airport at 06:30 local time.

The last contact of MH370 with the air traffic control was at 1:19 local time, when Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah responded to a send-off (message that they are leaving their area of supervision) by Kuala Lumpur and instructions to contact the Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam air traffic control. The pilot’s response was simple "Good night Malaysian Three Seven Zero". Since that point there was no more contact with the MH370. The fate of the plane, 12 crew members and 227 passengers is still unknown.

Six hours after the last message, at 07:24 Malaysia Airlines reported the flight missing. Flight 370 never contacted Ho Chi Minh City, there no signs of any contact with anyone after the 1:19 message. Quickly the search and rescue operations, involving several countries, were started, also investigation into the circumstances of the flight produced first, rather disturbing news.

The first bit of information was that two of the passengers were flying on a falsified passports, which might have suggested they were trying to hide their real identity and thus those two passengers might have been involved in some sort of terrorist activity aiming to kidnap the plane. But that was just the tip of the iceberg in this mysterious case.
