CIA conspiracy
The CIA conspiracy theory is supported by Oliver Stone’s movie "JFK" and basically it makes the assumption that the reason behind the whole assassination was in the Bay of Pigs Invasion failure. In 1961 CIA prepared the attack of unit consisting of Cuban refugees that would start the counter-revolution on Cuba and overthrown the Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
The total failure of the invasion was result of not only poor planning and pood judgement of mood among the Cubans, but also the planners did assume that president Kennedy, put in front of already started counter-revolution will give them support of US army and airforce. But Kennedy not only didn’t support them, but also publicly revealed that the whole operation was prepared behind his back and without his knowledge - he took the political blame for the operation, but didn’t want to have anything to do with the organizers.
This affront is the base of Oliver Stone’s theory. Also this hypothesis assumes that Lee Harvey Oswald was only a scape goat, there were several shooters provided with good weapon, way to escape from United States and also the route was changed so they would have the best spot for killing (the triangulation of shots). Also the witnesses of assassination allegedly died in suspicious circumstances.
Facts that are supporting the theory:
- CIA had the motive to kill Kennedy and experience in such operations (they were behind several political assassinations around the world),
- CIA had the access to people able to complete such assassination,
- CIA could have had the influence on security around Kennedy’s visit to Dallas (like changing the route),
- CIA could have had the influence on blocking the release of documents about assassination.
Facts that oppose the theory:
- the conspiracy would have to include the FBI and police that were involved in investigation and that is a lot of people to keep silent.
