Glenn Miller disappearance

Disappearance of Glenn Miller

On 15th December 1944 Miller planned to fly from England to France, where he was about to play for the soldiers in Paris. His plane departed from RAF Twinwood Farm in Clapham near Bedford and disappeared (probably) while flying over the English Channel. To this day there are no trace of the plane, pilot, passengers or crash site that would explain what exactly happened. Glenn Miller’s official status is missing in action.

 - Disappearance of Glenn Miller

The plane he was flying was a single-engined UC-64 Norseman, which was fairly new construction (introduced in 1935) and widely used around the world, some of them even used to this day.
